Francisca Asimit Ereng, a resident of Napetet, Lodwar, originally hails from Turkana North. She is a dedicated widow and mother of six children (five boys and one girl). Additionally, she generously cares for an adopted family of five members—a mother and her four children.

Professional Background:

Francisca holds a Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies and has completed her coursework for a Master’s degree. She currently serves as the Chief Social Protection Officer at Lodwar Municipality. Her role involves managing the Social Protection Unit, focusing on social safeguards and ensuring community welfare during project implementation.

Francisca Ereng is a seasoned development and social worker with over two decades of experience   in non-governmental organizations and county government. Her expertise lies in initiating, managing, and coordinating community programs, particularly those focused on social safeguards in development projects. With a strong commitment to teamwork, collaboration, and advocacy for public inclusion, Francisca is results-oriented and dedicated to achieving project objectives within specified timelines.

 Ereng managerial and program implementation competencies include: Supervisory skills, Effective communication, Collaborative teamwork, Program planning and budgeting, Research, analysis and Report writing Currently, Francisca serves as a Chief Social Protection Officer at Lodwar Municipality, where she is responsible for implementing various social protection programs under   Municipality of Urban Management and Physical Planning. Prior to this role, she held positions in the County Departments of Education, Sports, and Social Protection, and Tourism, Culture, and Natural Resources, focusing on social welfare, community development, and environmental conservation.

Her previous experience also includes working with international organizations like Oxfam GB and KIMETRICA on humanitarian activities, nutrition surveys, and household surveys. Additionally, Francisca has served in various capacities at the Electoral Commission of Kenya, Lokitaung Pastoral Integrated Development Project, and Christian Children Fund. Francisca is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Development at Turkana University College, building upon her Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies from Mount Kenya University. She also holds certificates in Community Development and Social Work, and Gender, Poverty, and Development Studies.
